Does Stelix need an internet connection?
Only for the initial model download. After that, everything runs locally on your device — fully offline.
Where is my data stored?
All conversations and data stay on your device. Stelix never sends anything to external servers.
How does Stelix choose which model to download?
Stelix detects your device's hardware (RAM, disk space) and automatically recommends the best-fitting model size. You can always switch to a different size later.
Can I switch to a different model size?
Yes. You can download a different model size at any time from the settings. Stelix will replace the current model with the new one.
How do I update Stelix?
Stelix checks for updates automatically. When an update is available, you'll see a prompt to install it.
Is Stelix free?
Yes. Stelix is completely free to use with no subscriptions, accounts, or hidden costs.
Troubleshooting
Running into issues? Here are some quick fixes.
Model download is slow or fails
Check your internet connection and try again. Large models require a stable connection. If the issue persists, try a smaller model size.
Responses are slow
Your device may not have enough resources for the current model. Try switching to a smaller model size in settings.
App won't launch
Make sure your OS is up to date. On macOS, you may need to allow Stelix in System Settings > Privacy & Security.
