Two students. One belief.
AI should be private.
Stelix AI is built by two young students from Tübingen, Germany who believe that using AI should never come at the cost of your privacy, and that AI should always be available, not dependent on an internet connection.
Why we started
We saw a problem
Every AI assistant we tried worked the same way. You type a message, it gets sent to a server, and a response comes back. Your thoughts, your questions, your ideas, all of it passing through someone else's infrastructure.
At the same time, we noticed that tools for running AI locally were built for developers and tech enthusiasts. They required terminal commands, manual configuration, and a deep understanding of model formats and hardware specs. For most people, they were simply unusable.
We started Stelix because we believed both problems could be solved at once. A private AI that anyone can use.

AI that belongs to you
We imagine a world where AI is as natural as opening any app on your phone. Where an account is not required to get started, where you are not dependent on an internet connection, and where your conversations stay entirely on your device, private by default.
Stelix is our step toward that future. We are building an AI assistant that is genuinely private, works offline, and feels simple enough for anyone to use. Not just for developers. Not just for people in cities with fast internet. For everyone.

Looking ahead
What to expect from Stelix
App Store launch for iOS and macOS
We are currently building a fully native app using Apple's MLX framework. Stelix will be available on the App Store for iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
More platforms over time
After Apple, we plan to bring Stelix to Windows, Linux, and Android. Same privacy, same experience, on every device.
Smarter models, same privacy
As on-device AI models improve, Stelix will too. We are committed to always using the best models that can run locally on your hardware.
